An amazing culture developed along the Nile River in Egypt about 5,000 years ago. Because they believed the ka survives life on earth after death, much of their art revolves around and has been preserved through the pyramids and tombs.We admire the Greeks for their temples, but the Egyptians had them first. To travel along the Nile today, into the temples, into the pyramids, and into the tombs, is to experience our first significant civilization.
